Thing 18: Acceptable Use Policy

http://www.edline.net/files/_GUIpO_/c259dbe5047324f03745a49013852ec4/Policy_-_GCS_-_6-15-10_FINAL_for_Board.pdf

Our Acceptable Use Policy is current. It was revised this past summer (2010). We broke it down so that you have to have permissions to post and publish information, pics, and work from students as well what kind of sites you can get on based on whether it is with the class or individual. Each school has their own way of keeping up with their AUPs. Most schools keep a digital spread sheet of all the students in the school and then break it down by class. Alternate plans are made in advance for students who cannot use the internet to search.

Thing 17: Twitter in the Classroom

I found a great blog where a fifth grade teacher set up a twitter account for the classroom. Everyday, they will have a different group of students do twitter updates in the form of summaries that they discuss in class. It will also be used as an announcement page. To read more:

Thing 14: Blog

I did find a teacher blog that I wanted to look at but I could not at school because it was blocked by WVDE AND it was one of the top 100.....go figure

-so- until I can look at it, I browsed through http://www.freetech4teachers.com/
This seems to be a nice site for teachers to go and read about how they have tried out different technology tools. I found a couple of cool ideas.  :)
