Our Acceptable Use Policy is current. It was revised this past summer (2010). We broke it down so that you have to have permissions to post and publish information, pics, and work from students as well what kind of sites you can get on based on whether it is with the class or individual. Each school has their own way of keeping up with their AUPs. Most schools keep a digital spread sheet of all the students in the school and then break it down by class. Alternate plans are made in advance for students who cannot use the internet to search.

Thing 17: Twitter in the Classroom
I found a great blog where a fifth grade teacher set up a twitter account for the classroom. Everyday, they will have a different group of students do twitter updates in the form of summaries that they discuss in class. It will also be used as an announcement page. To read more:

Thing 14: Blog
I did find a teacher blog that I wanted to look at but I could not at school because it was blocked by WVDE AND it was one of the top 100.....go figure
-so- until I can look at it, I browsed through http://www.freetech4teachers.com/
This seems to be a nice site for teachers to go and read about how they have tried out different technology tools. I found a couple of cool ideas. :)

Thing 13: Mid-Reflection
So far the things haven't been so bad. Found a couple of things that are pretty cool. Some things are a refresher that I haven't looked at for a while. Looking forward to finishing thing 23.
Thing 12: new 2.0 tool
I found something that I think some teachers may be able to use as part of their class. It is a place where students can post personal achievements.

Thing 11: Video
Teaching students to be safe is very important. I found a video about being safe at Halloween. The CSO SS.O.3.1.2 would meet the standard.

Thing 10: A lesson from "mini mini years" past...lol
Way back when (bout 3 years ago) before we had smarboards, paper, and power- I had this great lesson.....
Every Thursday, we would use my generic game board on the carpet to review our spelling, reading story, and vocabulary. They absolutely loved it....
Although this is a simple lesson, I would love to make it on the smartboard. Each student would have a responder. They could all answer everytime instead of one person at a time on the carpet and no one would be cheating with blurting out answers. I think this would be a simple way to do this to add technology.

Thing 9- Podcast KS2-Math Darts
This was a really cool video podcast about a school in England that uses dart boards to help teach math. It was actually pretty cool because it actually gets students to think through math problems. I am not the best at math, so watching this video was very insightful.

Thing 3- Twitter
When I was looking for things to show teachers about intergrating smart boards into the classroom, I came across a great glog that showed small children completing tasks on the smartboard.
I put this on our website
